Ora et labora (pray and work), the motto of the Benedictines, stresses the importance of prayer and work, and the balance and interplay between the two. Members of the monastic community are encouraged to work in jobs within their competence which do not conflict with community life and prayer. We do a limited amount of individual spiritual direction on an appointment basis.
